The Farmer’s Market Margarita is about to become your new favorite drink of summer!!!! It’s the perfect balance of earthy, tangy, and sweet that tastes like summer in a glass. I also consider this to be a health food. Enjoy and drink responsibly! 🪴
First, make the Garden Juice. Add 3 cups cherry tomatoes, 2 Persian cucumbers, ½ cup lightly packed basil leaves, juice from 2 limes, 1 oz maple syrup or agave, and a pinch of flaky salt to a high-powered blender and blend on high until smooth, about 60 seconds. Place a fine mesh sieve over a bowl or large measuring cup. Line the sieve with cheesecloth or a clean, thin dish towel. Pour the mixture into the lined sieve and let it drain naturally for 10–15 minutes. For more juice, gently gather the cheesecloth or towel and gently squeeze out the remaining liquid. Refrigerate until chilled. Note: You can skip straining if you prefer a more rustic cocktail. Just know the drink will have more pulp and will naturally separate as it sits, so give it a quick stir before drinking. The Garden Juice will keep in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Give it a nice shake before using. Separation is natural!
For the Farmer’s Market Margarita (batch of 8): Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add 2 cups blanco tequila, 2 cups garden juice, ½ cup fresh lime juice, and 4 oz maple syrup (or agave). Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds. Strain into an ice-filled glass with a flaky salt or Tajín rim, if desired. Top with a splash of sparkling water and gently stir with a straw. Garnish with cherry tomatoes and a fresh basil sprig.
